United We Work is a program developed by United Way of Southeast Missouri in collaboration with the Cape Girardeau County Transit Authority (CTA), area employers, social service agencies, and banking partners.The program is designed to help entry-level employees overcome obstacles to employment and self-sufficiency. This program assists clients in making “life needs” trips with CTA’s demand-response service. This includes transportation to/from doctor’s appointments, grocery stores, pharmacies, or Senior Centers in Cape Girardeau County. This service is provided to handicapped individuals aged 18-59 and seniors 60 and older. CGCTA also takes Cape Girardeau County residents who qualify for the Aging Matters (AAA) Program to St. Louis on the third Thursday of every month as long as there are (3) riders signed up to make the trip.
The SB40 Program allows clients to travel anywhere in Cape Girardeau County
except to the Casino, Medical marijuana dispensaries, or any establishment that sells alcohol as its primary business. Transportation is provided by Cape Girardeau County Transit Authority.
